March 24 , 2005 - New Bravenet Service Launched!

*New* Bravenet Daily Horoscope Service Debuts!

Today we have officially unveiled the new Bravenet Daily Horoscope service! Yes, now you can add horoscopes to your website or Blogs that update with fresh new horoscopes for each zodiac sign, each and every day!

We provide a small box with either your own horoscope in it, a list of zodiac signs, or a list of famous people born on the current date... visitors can click on the information in the box and we display a special page with detailed horoscopes and birthday information! There is even a 'send me the horoscope in email' option!

The service is extremely customizable... if you use our News Headlines or Today in History service you will already be familiar with how the service works. Try it out, it is easy!

March 14 , 2005 - New - Website Hosting Community!

We are proud to announce that our newest Bravenet Member community site has been launched!

Our Blog Community (BraveJournal.com) has been such an overwhelming success that we have expanded our community presence to include more Services and Members!

The new community site at BraveHost.com provides a central meeting point where you can view our Featured Bravenet Web Sites, Guestbooks and Forums! You can even submit your Bravenet Web Site for consideration as one of our new Bravenet Sites of the Week and get your site listed on our main community site! Talk about a traffic builder!

In addition we will be posting daily Bravenet service news, tips and special announcements along with special polls, surveys and handy articles! Stop in daily to see what's new and exciting around Bravenet!

February 14 , 2005 - New - Website Hosting Enhancement!

We are very pleased to be able to tell you that our newest addition to the Website Hosting service is now live and running in your hosting service managers!

We've added a new Website Theme Builder option to the Website Wizard... select from a number of pre-built themes and add your own content, and you are all finished. This makes creating a professional looking new website extremely easy!

The existing website wizard allows you to create a quick site, but it has limits on color selection and so on, whereas the new theme builder uses some of our most popular pre-built Professional Website Templates that you just add your own content to, complete with provided images and layout elements.

We've debuted the service with a small number of themes and will be adding many more over the next few weeks. Try it out and see what you think... login to your Hosting service manager, click on the Website Wizard icon, and then click on the Website Wizard icon.

January 10 , 2005 - New - Guestmap Service Update!

Our Guestmap service has been updated to include great new functionality! Now you can set your Guestmap so that your approval is required before any entries are posted publically on your map.

The new feature is easy to implement, login to your Bravenet member account and and go to the Genral Settings section and set your Post Approval setting there!

December 13 , 2004 - New - Brand New Service Debuts!

The new Today in History service will add educational and fun historical tidbits to your web site. We provide the special copy/paste code, you decide how many entries to display and how the service should look.

We provide all the data, you just add the code to your page(s) and visitors will see new factoids and trivia each day.

You can register the service in your member account at any time. login and click on the Today in History link in the Unregistred Services section of the Members area!

December 7 , 2004 - New Message Forum Setting!

We have added a much requested new option for the Bravenet Message Forum service! Now you can enter a message and set it to 'sticky' and that message will be displayed at the very top of your forum above all of the other messages, until you decide to remove it.

This is a very helpful option for posting items like Forum rules, announcements or anything that you want to keep posted for visitors to view. To view the stickie option in action, visit our Bravenet Help forums and you will see some of our more frequently asked questions posted there in stickie format.

Set your message options in the Manage Forum Messages section. Here is a tip: You can also set the stickied message to 'locked' status to prevent people from replying directly to your stickied information. That way your information is displayed but it doesn't get cluttered up with loads of replies from visitors.

November 24, 2004 - New Blog Privacy Setting!

Now you can review and approve Blog comments left by your visitors BEFORE they are displayed in your Blog service!

If you would like to be able to Review and Approve or Disapprove your visitors comments go to the Blog service manager in your account and click on the Privacy Settings option. You can set your Blog comment permissions there. By default, the Approvals are set to 'OFF' so no change is required if you wish to have your Blog work the same way it always has.

This was a very popular request by Blog members, and we are happy to be able to provide it to you!

November 9, 2004 - New Headline News Service!

We've launched a new service that we know you will love! Your guests will enjoy returning to your website now that they can access the latest and greatest News and Information stories right from your site!

Clicking on a headline will display the full news article as well as links to other breaking news. This great service updates on a regular basis so you're sure to get the latest breaking news on your chosen topic!

November 7, 2004 - New Password Gate Service Update!

The Password Gate has undergone some changes... we have added some very cool new options to it which should help make the service easier to use for Webmasters. In response to Bravenet Member requests, we have included a built-in option to request access to pages and a special area in the Password Gate service manager to manage access requests. This should make the daily use of the Gate service a lot easier for you!

As always, we are listening to your feedback, keep it coming! Be sure to let us know what new features and options you would like to see in Bravenet services by using the Service Feedback option at the bottom of every Service Manager.

November 4, 2004 - New Hit Counter Service Update!

We've added a new feature to your counter service! Now you can have a counter display that shows a random number, rather than your actual count. Don't worry - your website's traffic statistics will remain accurate while your counter displays a false number!

To activate this feature for your counter, log into your Bravenet Member Account and follow these directions:

September 16, 2004 - Template Gallery Updates!

We've added 100 more Professional Website Templates, exclusive to Bravenet, to our Template Gallery service. These are all new custom templates that you cannot get anywhere else on the web!

Bravenet Members asked for a bigger selection of FREE Templates, and we have risen to the challenge! You will find over 140 new FREE templates in your Template Gallery service. In addition to the basic text-based templates we have always had in the service you will find a wide variety of new professionally designed website templates.

With the addition of the new templates to the Gallery, we also re-worked the way the Templates are viewed. We have added several new categories so that you can narrow your search and find what you are looking quickly and easily.

September 15, 2004 - Bravenet Counters are Popup-free!

*New* We've Removed Pop-Ups From Counters!

A few months back, we added pop-ups to our free counter service to help us cover costs, but the members have spoken and we have listened. Your feedback told us that the popups were affecting your sites and we understand.

We hope you understand our goal, but we also want to keep everyone happy and enjoying Bravenet's fantastic services. And guess what? As an extra bonus for our members, we're adding more counter images so that you can pick from an even greater variety of cool custom counters!

September 2, 2004 - New BraveJournal.com Feature!

We have been making changes and additions to our BraveJournal Blog community site and here is another great feature to add to the list. We have implemented a new keyword search by country option!

Now you can search for your favorite topics by keyword AND narrow your search to only those Blogs from a specific country. For example, if you wanted to search for information about Canadian Dogs, you would type in dog as your keyword and then select Canada from the dropdown list of countries. Your search results will show all of the corresponding matches for dog in only our Canadian Blogs!

We have also added a new Browse by Flag option. Click on the Browse by Flag option on the main Community page (upper left) and you will see a page displaying flags of all of the countries that have Bravenet Blog members. Click on the flag of your choice and all of the Blogs under that flag will be displayed to you!

Looking for travel or move information? Browse by Flag could put you directly in touch with someone from the country you are traveling to! Check it out at the BraveJournal Community Site!

August 30, 2004 - New Service Manager Feature!

We have been hard at work upgrading some of our services and service manager pages. Some of our service managers have been getting a new Look and Feel editor which should help make editing and creating your service color schemes and layouts a lot easier.

The Editor features a tabbed interface that you just click through to set up your service look. So far, feedback has been very positive and we are quite pleased with the results. Check it out if you get the chance, and let us know what you think! Every service manager has a Service Feedback form in the Service Utilities section that you can use to send us comments and service suggestions. We love to hear from Members, so don't be shy about using it!

August 18, 2004 - New Blog Feature!

Our Blog service has proven to be extremely popular with our Members, and now we have one more reason for you to love your Bravenet Blog!

Initially the Blog service allowed access to as much as a year's worth of postings through our handy built-in Calendar feature which shows the last year and which days had entries made. However, as many of you have imported entries from other blogging services, it became very important that we gave you access to all those entries older than a year.

So, we have introduced a more verbose listing of entries for easy retrieval and perusal! This List contains ALL of your Blog entries, regardless of how long ago you made them!

The Blog uses the standard Calendar view, for Archived Posts, by default and will continue to do so if you want to continue using it. If you would like to switch your Blog over to the new layout style, go into your Blog service manager and select the General Settings option (in the Blog Control panel section) and then select the List option. Make sure you save your changes at the bottom of the page.

August 8, 2004 - New Guestbook Preview Feature!

We have had a very busy summer! Over the last few weeks we have been hard at work updating the Service Manager pages in your member accounts and updating some of our services. We are very excited to announce that our world famous Bravenet Guestbooks now have a feature that allows you to preview and approve ALL of the entries in your Guestbook before they are displayed in your book!

This was the number one most requested new feature for the Guestbook service and we are delighted to have made it available to our Members. The Preview feature is now a selectable option in your Guestbook service manager. You can leave your Guestbook in the 'classic' mode with no entry preview, or enable it in your setup with a click. Once enabled, you can read all of your latest Guestbook entries and approve or delete them quickly and easily.

We have a lot more service changes and additions in the works based on the feedback you have provided us with. Be sure to use the Service Feedback option in each of the Service Managers to let us know how you think we can improve your services!

July 14, 2004 - New Counter Service Manager!

In response to Member feedback, we have made some significant changes to the Hit Counter service manager pages. Your counters will be much easier to manage and customize with a new and much more intuitive interface.

We have simplified and streamlined the whole process of counter creation and customization. Check out the new management layout in your Bravenet Member Account.

We recently added a Service Feedback option in each of the service managers, and the helpful suggestions we have been getting from Members have been really great! Keep those suggestions and comments coming!

June 22, 2004 - New Blog Features Implemented!

There is a new addition to the Community Bar at the top of all Bravenet Blogs... yes, by popular demand we have implemented RSS Feeds for all of the Bravenet Blogs. If you have an RSS Reader you can access the feed via a special file called feed.rss.

We have also implemented a 'date-back' option that allows you to set the date for your entries to any date you prefer. For those of you who missed a few days posting and want to go back and add an entry for a specific day, now you can set the date you missed and the Blog entry will be posted under that date!

Also new is a new tabbed option box at the bottom of your Post Entry page. The various Blog entry options are now displayed in an easier to use tabbed box, just click on the tabs to access the options instead of scrolling forever to get to the Post Entry submit button.

All of these great new features are as a result of your Member feedback and suggestions... so keep the great ideas coming... We want you to have the best Blogs on the Internet.

June 11, 2004 - New Calendar Service Makes its Grand Debut!

Our number one most requested Bravenet service has finally arrived. We are delighted to announce the debut of a brand new Bravenet Web Service... the Bravenet Calendar!

This great web-based Calendar lets you and your visitors keep track of birthdays, events, meetings, appointments, and special occasions. Handy features like the Monthly, Weekly, and Day-at-a-glance views let you stay on top of important meetings or occasions the quick and easy way!

Emailed reminders will keep you on top of all of your important events. Choose which events you want to be reminded about and how far in advance you want to be emailed. We have made it super simple!

The Daily Planner style appointment and event scheduler works with point and click simplicity, just add your information, click a button and your event details are there to be shared with any of your visitors or site members!

There is nothing to download and nothing to install. Your Bravenet Calendar is accessible with almost any web browser from any Internet connection in the world! It's a great way to stay organized on trips or vacation!.

In addition, our extensive customization options allow you to match your new Calendar service to your websites color scheme and layout.

May 24, 2004 - New Features Introduced in the Blog!

As we promised, the Bravenet Blog service has undergone some great new changes since we initially debuted the service a few weeks back!

We have added a set of Blog Themes, streamlined the service code to make it run faster, and improved the functionality of the Color Scheme selector we created for the service.

You will find a new set of Themes with a simpler, cleaner design in the Blog Service manager. For those of you who enjoy a minimalistic approach to your page design, you will love these new styles. The new Themes are a great starting point for members who want to really customize their own Blogs, without having to start totally from scratch.

We also made some changes to the Bravenet Blog Community page coding, to speed up and smooth out the display of all of our favorite Blog links. You will find the Community site (Bravenet Blog Community) loads quite a bit faster and more efficiently now.

The amazing color scheme creator we added to the Blog service, has been revamped a bit to provide greater flexibility and control over the color scheme it generates for your page. If you tried the selector previously and found the results a bit limiting, give it another try... we are sure you will be surprised at the new functionality!

May 7, 2004 - New Pro Templates Added to Template Gallery !

We have just added another 100 top-quality high end templates to our Template Gallery service. These are all custom templates designed by Bravenet that you cannot get anywhere else!

All of the new templates come with an HTML page, Photoshop PSD file containing the page images that you can customize in your Adobe program. For those of you who may not have Photoshop we provide 'blank' images you can use in any basic graphics editing program to add your own (company name, etc) custom text!

If you haven't looked in your Template Gallery lately, look again and check out all the new designs!
