Tsunami Summary

From the Japanese word for "harbor wave", tsunami is a word that is now associated with a giant, destructive wave. These giant waves are caused by underwater disturbances, such as earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. In South Asia, the word tsunami is a representation of absolute devastation.

On Sunday December 26, 2004, a tsunami hit the coastlines of Southern Asia, leaving behind devastation and tragedy among millions of people. December 31: the death toll is sitting just below 140,000 people. Unfortunately, that total is not yet finished as the number continues to rise.

All the aid and reparation of the cities affected, as well as the individuals that were involved will have a high price. As each day goes on, that price becomes more and more out of reach to the people that need it. This is why we would like to help out in any way that we can.
